Matroos Catering in Den Helder

As a Matroos Catering at the Royal Netherlands Navy in Den Helder, you will join a close-knit team aboard a naval vessel. This role offers a unique combination of hospitality and military service, where you work in the galley, bakery, and storage areas to ensure the crew is well-fed. Your responsibilities include serving meals as a steward, assisting the chef with food preparation, and managing inventory. Beyond catering, you will perform essential military duties such as participating in medical response teams or assisting with helicopter landings. This position includes comprehensive internal training, starting with 12 weeks of Maritime Military Training followed by 11 weeks of specialized vocational training in catering and hospitality. Candidates must be between 17 and 28 years and 11 months old, with a minimum education level of VMBO (Basis, Kader, Gemengd, or Theoretisch) or MBO 1/2. Proficiency in the Dutch language is required.
