About the job

Elockers is looking for a Senior Back-end Developer to join their Amsterdam-based team. You will design and build complex microservices systems that handle peak traffic and real-time payments, working on cloud-native engineering with DigitalOcean App Platform.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and debug complex microservices systems
  • Work on cloud-native engineering with DigitalOcean App Platform
  • Ensure reliability during peak traffic and real-time payments
  • Develop Adyen-based payments and marketplace systems
  • Improve CI/CD, documentation, and AI-assisted development

What you bring

  • Deep hands-on technical seniority in distributed systems
  • Strong Node.js and microservices expertise
  • Clear communication and team fit in a small fast-moving team
  • Ownership mentality for business-critical tasks
  • Cloud or platform engineering experience, ideally DigitalOcean App Platform
  • Payments or marketplace experience with high-peak systems

Nice to have

  • IoT or hardware integration experience
  • React Native or Expo experience
  • Multi-country scaling with GDPR awareness
  • Background in events or ticketing
