About the job

JACOBS DOUWE EGBERTS is looking for an Impact Specialist to join their team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will maintain and improve sustainability risk models and translate analytical outputs into actionable impact assessments.

What you will do

  • Maintain and improve sustainability risk models for environmental and human rights risks
  • Design and improve impact assessment methodologies and indicators
  • Perform spatial analysis with satellite imagery and geospatial data
  • Translate analytical outputs into impact assessments for prioritization and reporting
  • Act as product owner for the corporate emissions reporting platform (Sphera)
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, presentations, and technical documentation

What you bring

  • Master's degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Geography, Sustainability, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 2–4 years experience in sustainability analytics, data science, environmental modeling or quantitative risk assessment
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and Databricks/PySpark
  • Familiarity with frontend development
  • Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, and sustainability regulations (EUDR, CSRD/CSDDD)
  • Substantive understanding of at least two of: deforestation drivers, human rights risks, climate hazard data, or coffee agronomy

Nice to have

  • Experience with sustainability reporting systems (e.g., Sphera)
  • Experience with data visualization
